Greetings from The RE/MAX of Nanaimo Dave Koszegi Group! We are a Port Alberni based real estate company that lives and works in the valley, and loves to call this beautiful slice of island life home. Our Group is led by Dave Koszegi, a well-known local face who is always out and about diligently helping home buyers and sellers, while in his off-time he’s often sponsoring various sports teams and local organizations, or driving his rally cars.

We believe in the strength of the Alberni Valley’s dynamic community spirit, and take pride in the vibrant local landscapes.

I am obsessed with the commodity of real estate and the people I work with around it, whether its owning, renting, selling, or developing. I even own real estate where I vacation. It’s interesting that for the last four years I have been approached by banks, my boss, various individuals and now RE/MAX to mentor and coach. I find it very satisfying and validating to realize my life path and story is of interest and has a positive influence on others. I love leading my group and think of myself as a small town agent with big city volume.
Born and raised in Port Alberni, BC I started my career in real estate on June 3, 1993 at the age of 20. During my 20 years in real estate I have attained several sales awards through RE/MAX including, the Diamond Award, Hall of Fame, Lifetime Achievement Award and Circle of Legends. In 2004, I was the #1 Sales Associate in BC for number of transactions and in 2012 I was the recipient of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board REALTOR® Care Award. My designations include Global Marketing Agent and Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and member of the RE/MAX Commercial Division.

Randi Clayton, REALTOR®/Licensed Assistant

Randi has worked as Dave’s executive assistant for the past 23 years and has been a licensed RE/MAX agent since January 2006. Previously a legal assistant in Vancouver, Randi enjoys assisting clients through the legalese of the real estate process and handles the details once an offer is accepted. “It’s important to me that the process runs smoothly to closing and is a pleasurable experience for everyone involved.” Randi also wears the hat of brokerage/office manager and assists Dave in implementation of all marketing materials. Sometimes known as Mother Bear of the group, Randi and her husband, Phil raised five children and with all but one now on their own, she enjoys yoga, travelling and spending time on the beach and with her family whenever possible.

John Clark, REALTOR®

John Clark has always had a passion for real estate. With an extensive background in sales and business, John absolutely loves listing and selling homes. And while he agrees that cell phones and computer technology are great tools, after a long career in sales, John still believes in the personal approach and he will strive to make that face-to-face contact to ensure your transaction goes smoothly!

Leona Dolling, Listings Coordinator (Unlicensed)

As Listings Coordinator for the RE/MAX of Nanaimo Dave Koszegi Group, Leona’s organizational skills are an integral part of our success; keeping our listings (and group members!) and their associated processes moving with all of the details intact. Leona processes the listings, which includes uploading their information and marketing materials to the various partner sites.

Her calm, positive, and kind attitude keep our clients smiling every day – but be warned, she has her 4th degree black belt in karate! She teaches here in the Alberni Valley several times a week. An avid hiker, she also loves the outdoors and spending time with her family.

When asked what she loves most about living in the Alberni Valley, Leona responded:

Monica Stephen, Unlicensed Office Support

We couldn’t be more thrilled to have recently welcomed Monica to our group as office support! Prior to coming aboard the RE/MAX of Nanaimo Dave Koszegi Group, Monica was involved in the Real Estate industry through her career in banking, mortgages, and conveyancing – so being here with us has been a natural evolution to her career. We’re grateful to have her organizational skills here on deck!

Monica says she couldn’t imagine living anywhere else other than Port Alberni (having relocated from the Lower Mainland); given our tight-knit, caring community, an abundance of beautiful places to hike, and the short commute! Her husband is a teacher, and her 2 school-age kids keep her busy when she’s not in the office.

Bobby Toor, REALTOR®

From Vancouver to Bamfield, Bobby Toor is loving his final destination in Port Alberni!

His keen interest in the Real Estate business – coupled with his love for the Alberni Valley lifestyle – is what brought Bobby to set his roots down in Port Alberni with his family.

Their new beginning here in Port has been successful early on, thanks to the support of our amazing community!

After finishing up in finance and economics degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2004. it has been all business for Bobby; first managing a 50,000 sq.ft facility (building from 1300 members to 4500) and running a restaurant. From there, he relocated to Bamfield to aid in its revitalization; managing 12 properties for the Huuayaht – including the motel, pub, lodges, gallery, fuel dock and airstrip.

Now, he’s thrilled to take on his career in Real Estate in the community of his dreams – and it’s been a success even so early on.

Bobby’s known for his commitment to his family – his love for Port Alberni has not just been the natural beauty and the community, but sharing it with his two young children, wife and Newfoundland dog. Whenever he has a spare moment, you’ll find him playing squash with his 7 year-old.

James Brook, REALTOR®

With a background in banking and heavily connected in the Valley, James came to us in an administrative capacity. He soon realized his love for all things real estate and became a licensed agent. Upon meeting him, people are instantly put at ease by his diplomatic, friendly manner – which is certainly a positive attribute when it comes to helping people manage what is to be one of the largest transactions they may ever make in a lifetime. When he’s not with clients or in the office, he’ll be found spending time with his family and he enjoys volunteering at his daughter’s elementary school; a fun way to spend quality time with his kids while giving back to the community. James brings a lot of energy and positivity to the group and in his words “I have always envisioned loving where you work, and who you work with – this office and community ticks all those boxes, twice!”
